Find A Park Blackstrap Provincial Park![]() Free that summertime spirit with a little windsurfing, water skiing, sailing, fishing, swimming, boating or hiking. Or slay those winter blues with some invigorating downhill skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing. Blackstrap Provincial Park, named after the mountain that rises 45 metres above the surrounding prairies, is a handy location for year ‘round recreation; it’s only 40 minutes south of Saskatoon. The main beach is situated just northeast of the mountain. Day users enjoying the water, sand and sun will find a picnic area, playground, and food concession close at hand. A day lodge offering meals operate during the summer. Landlubbers who prefer hiking and cycling, on the other hand, can try the 5-km trail that runs in a long loop above the beach area; cross-country skiers use the same trail in winter. No matter the season, come refresh your body and rejuvenate your spirit beside Saskatchewan’s monument to human ingenuity. Wake up your senses in Blackstrap Provincial Park! Camping![]() This small park features 30 campsites at Kevin Misfeldt campground, located south of the mountain, and 20 at Hazelnut Grove campground to the north. About one quarter of the park’s sites are electrified. All campers have access to the hot showers and modern conveniences found at the Misfeldt service centre, and the kids will appreciate the playground and beach adjacent to the camping area. In addition to regular campsites, campsites along the shore and walk-in sites are available. Seasonal CampingBlackstrap offers seasonal camping spots. Seasonal camping is complete for this year. Information on 2009 seasonal camping will be posted on the Seasonal Camping page in the New Year. In-Park ServicesBlackstrap has limited services within the park; however groceries, fuel and a convenience store are available in the nearby community of Dundurn. There is a concession at the main beach area that offers fast food and snacks. The concession is open on weekends from the May long weekend to Labour Day. Nearby Attractions![]() Being located less then 30 minutes from Saskatoon, means there are plenty of attractions and events in the area.
