About Provincial Parks Provincial Parks Camper Survey: ResultsThe Saskatchewan Provincial Parks 2008 Camper Survey obtained information that will be used to help us better understand and enhance campers' experience in Saskatchewan's provincial parks. The results showed that 87 percent of respondents were satisfied with their visit. Respondents gave parks staff, the availability of information, security/safety, campsite size, availability of firewood, cleanliness and overall facilities a high rating. The camper survey also pointed to some of the challenges facing Saskatchewan's provincial parks. They include upgrading and expanding campsites, campers who leave their campsites unoccupied, improving the reservation system and improving the quality of bathrooms and facilities. Respondents would like to see more convenience stores, golf courses and better highways going to the provincial parks. The majority of respondents agreed that vehicle entry permits and camping permits are a good value. The majority of respondents also agreed that operating funds for provincial parks should be generated mostly or entirely from visitor fees, or equally from taxes and visitor fees. Thank you to the almost 4,000 campers who took part in the camper survey. Its findings provide tremendous insights that will be used to build on the already impressive programs and services in our provincial parks to ensure they continue to be preferred destinations and places of environmental integrity well into the future.
