Saskatchewan Parks - Candle Lake Park

Candle Lake Park is located less than an hour northeast of Prince Albert.  The park area is dominated by the large lake, a clean and clear body of water featuring good-sized campgrounds on the east and west side, and plenty of great fishing, boating and water-skiing in between.  Beaches?  Candle Lake boasts about 7 km of them.

Minowukaw, Waskateena and Sandy Bay rate among the top 10 inland beaches in Canada.

Wake up your senses! Come to Candle Lake Provincial Park to boost your batteries and lift your spirits. And soothe your soles while you’re here!

Candle Lake is a Reserve-a-Site park.  The Reserve-a-Site program is now open.

All electric with service centre Reserve-a-Sites at Minowukaw Campground are now booked from June 26 through August 14. Non-electric with service centre sites are still available at Minowukaw Campground during this time period. Electric with service centre reserve-a-sites are available beginning August 15. If unable to reserve a site at Minowukaw Campground, first come, first served sites are available. These sites cannot be booked prior to your arrival at the park. Click here for more information, or to access the online form to reserve sites for arrival on or after Monday, June 1, 2009.

There is a Service Centre with hot showers and laundry facilities at the Sandy Bay campground where you can choose from among more than 140 campsites just a skip and a jump from the beach.  The smaller Minowukaw Beach campground is located in the jack pine and aspen forest on the east side of the lake and now has its own Service Centre with showers.  Minowukaw features the fragile Minowukaw Sand Dunes, the product of thousands of years of wind and water erosion.

Two campgrounds, with 304 sites:

  • Electric Sites: 189 (near a service centre)
  • Non-electric Sites: 139 (near a service centre)
