Cannington Manor Provincial Park Educational Programs at Cannington ManorProgram A: A Day at Cannington Manor![]() Come and spend a day at the village. During this intensive, daylong experience, students will examine different aspects of early settlement life. The emphasis is on hands-on activities with students participating in cooking stew, rope making, baking biscuits, playing cricket or washing clothes and playing sports that were popular at the turn of the century. Includes a tour of all the park buildings and to end the day the students get to eat what they have baked and cooked. Times offered: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10:00 a.m. from May 24th to June 2nd. Program B: Daily Life at Cannington ManorThe focus of this program is a comparison of everyday lifestyles of the homesteaders, tradesmen and English settlers who called Cannington Manor home. Students may bake or wash clothes as well as tour the historic buildings of the village. Program C: Life and Leisure at Cannington Manor![]() If you like outdoor activities then this program is for you! Students will play cricket, a popular sport at Cannington Manor. They will also have the opportunity to see the historic buildings and discuss the people associated with them. Program D: Introduction to Cannington ManorStudents are introduced to the people who lived and worked at Cannington manor. A fast-paced tour of the park buildings, no activities offered. Other School Programs in the AreaTry camping at Summer Youth ProgramEducational Programs B and C are available for youth groups (e.g. Scouts, 4-H, Girl Guides, birthday parties) throughout the summer. Programs can be customized to suit your group’s needs. Activities may include rope making, cricket, crafts, baking or painting/crafts. These programs are available for groups of 10 or more on weekends in May and June and on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during July and August. Cost is $2.00/adult and $1.00/youth. Pre-book with park staff by calling the historic park at History LessonsTea, Treats & Tales: Designed for adults, this program addresses the complex social order of the bachelors, the homesteaders/tradesmen and the upper-class families. Most importantly, it ends with a Victorian Tea complete with scones. This program involves a 1 km. walk although driving is possible. Most buildings are wheelchair accessible. This program is available for groups of 10 or more on weekends in May and June and on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during July and August. Cost is $2.00/person.
