How Evaluation Supports Parks, Culture and Sport
The Policy, Planning and Evaluation Branch collaborates with Ministry staff and stakeholders on research and evaluation initiatives by:
- conducting primary research and evaluation studies using a variety of tools and techniques (e.g., online and mailback surveys, focus groups, etc.);
- analyzing secondary data sources to inform decision-making related to policy and program development. Examples of secondary data sources used to date include: Census, Labour Force Survey, General Social Survey, Canadian Community Health Survey;
- providing technical assistance for research or evaluation initiatives conducted by external consultants for PCS staff and stakeholders; and
- enhancing knowledge transfer by providing quality information and professional development opportunities to inform policy and program decision-making.
