Mission:  To facilitate heritage resource protection and conservation and foster a culture of heritage stewardship.

Goals and Objectives

Goal 1:  Heritage resources are identified, protected and managed for the benefit, enjoyment and use of present and future generations. 

• Reduce the uncontrolled loss of heritage resources
• Facilitate heritage resource conservation, re-use, study or disposition
• Increase Provincial Heritage Property designations

Goal 2:  Heritage conservation is factored into public policy and decision-making.

• Increase awareness of and work collaboratively with provincial government ministries and agencies to facilitate appropriate stewardship of heritage resources

Goal 3:  Local governments, Aboriginal communities, and others have the capacity to identify, conserve and manage heritage resources.

• Support and facilitate Municipal Heritage Property designations
• Work collaboratively with heritage stakeholders to build and enhance community heritage conservation and management capacity

Goal 4:  Saskatchewan people are aware of and engaged with heritage resources.

• Enhance availability of and public access to heritage resource information
• Increase public awareness and appreciation of heritage resources
