  Did You Know? The 2008-09 Provincial Budget contains $4.2 million in new funding to maintain support for arts and cultural organizations to ensure a vibrant and sustainable arts and cultural sector in the province. Youth Leadership Leaders of TomorrowTime and again, young people have said that they want a voice in decision-making that affects them. They have also identified a need to develop leadership and new job skills, and safety and well-being expertise. As well, young people want opportunities for meaningful involvement in the community. The ministry worked in partnership with Crown Investments Corporation (CIC) to develop the "Leaders of Tomorrow" initiative that provides for the designation of one youth position on each subsidiary Crown board. Youth representatives will provide demographic balance on the boards and will infuse the boards with youthful energy and perspectives. This program will also support succession planning for Crown boards.
