Reserve-a-Site Update

Saskatchewan provincial parks Reserve-a-Site application forms are now available online.  Once you have reviewed the Reserve-a-Site program information, scroll to the Make a Reservation Link to access the online application forms.

Demand for the Reserve-a-Site program is at an all-time high - and growing.  As a result, reservable electric sites at many parks during the peak camping period of late June through to mid-August are near or are already at capacity.  Reservations for electric sites are more readily available early or later in the season.  Non-electric sites are still readily available at most locations.

The status of reservation availability can be found on the chart on the Reserve-a-Site Applications page.  First-come, first-served sites are also available for campers who are unable to secure a reservation or have not yet planned their vacation.  Before arriving at the park please call ahead to check availability of the first come, first served sites.

Campers awaiting confirmation on a reservation request are advised that due to an extremely high volume of requests at a number of parks, response times vary and may be an additional several weeks before confirmation is received.  Our sincere apologies for the delay.

Hey! Save me a Spot!

We sure will.  Using the Saskatchewan Provincial Parks Reserve-A-Site Program allows you the security of knowing a site is waiting for you, before you ever leave home.  To better serve you, our valued customer, carefully read the information below in order to help you complete your online reservation form.

To better service your request, we strongly encourage you to use the online Reserve-a-Site form.  If you still prefer to use regular mail or fax, please download the Reserve-A-Site Request Form which can be found under Related Documents at the bottom of this page and forward the completed form to that park.  Contact information for each specific park can be found on the park specific web pages.

Customers with a reservation request number, or who have faxed or emailed a complete request, do not need to reapply.

Phone reservations are not accepted at most locations until June 7, 2010.  Crooked Lake, Danielson, Douglas, Echo Valley, Good Spirit Lake, Lac La Ronge and Moose Mountain will accept phone reservations.

Please ensure you are refreshing your browser frequently.  If you are unable to access the form, please contact us at parksinfo@gov.sk.ca.

*Please Note* The Reserve-a-Site program and online application form is not for group camping reservations.  Contact the park of interest directly for those bookings.

*Please Note* If you are requesting to camp next to another individual, it is important that both reservation requests are submitted at the same time.  Reservation requests are processed in the order they are received; to increase the chance of your request being met, it is important that the reservation requests are submitted, received and therefore processed at the same time.  Only one reservation request per form.

About Reserve-A-Site

When booking your reservation, there is a minimum number of nights stay you must book.  The minimum booking is three nights for holiday long weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and a minimum two nights booking any other time.  If your holiday plans are last minute, all parks, including those that offer the Reserve-a-Site service, may accommodate you with sites available on a first come, first served basis.  This service is offered at 19 parks, and allows for a site to be secured in advance of your arrival.

You will be able to complete the payment portion of your transaction online through a secure payment window.  The new system also includes automated reminders and electronic confirmations of your reservation.  These upgrades will allow the reservation process to be more efficient and less time-consuming.

To reserve a site, select the park specific Reservation Form and apply directly to the park you are interested in.  You should book the entire length of your stay when making your reservation request.  The option to extend your reservation upon arrival at the park may not be available.  When phoning to reserve your site at the applicable parks, please know the dates of your stay and type and length of unit.

When you submit your online reservation request you will receive a screen with a reservation request number.  You should print a copy of this page.  In addition, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your request.  If you do not receive this email, you may want to check if the email may have been inadvertently directed to a junk mail folder as a result of SaskatchewanParksReservations@gov.sk.ca not being included as one of your ‘contacts'.  You may also want to check your spam folders.  Be sure to add SaskatchewanParksReservations@gov.sk.ca  to your ‘safe senders' list.  Your internet service provider may be able to assist you as well.

Phone reservations are not accepted at most locations until June 7, 2010. Crooked Lake, Danielson, Douglas, Echo Valley, Good Spirit Lake, Lac La Ronge and Moose Mountain will accept phone reservations.

Confirming and Guaranteeing Your Reservation

Once your site is confirmed available and payment for the non-refundable reservation fee and minimum booking requirement is received, you will be sent a confirmation notice from the park.  Please remember that while park staff does their best at fulfilling your requests, we do not accept bookings for specific campsites or specific areas of the campground.

All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card, cheque or money order.  Park staff will strive to respond to your reservation request within 10 to 15 business days.  In some cases, especially early in the new year, request volumes are very high, increasing the processing time.  You will be contacted via email or phone by a park representative to guarantee your reservation.

Fees

Reserve-A-Site fees include a non-refundable reservation fee and camping fees for the required minimum number of nights of your reservation.  For example, if you request a reservation for seven nights (no long weekend) the reservation fee and the first two nights of the camping fees have to be paid prior to your arrival at the park.  The remaining five nights of camping fees must be paid in full when you arrive at the park.  Entry fees are not included and are over and above your camping fees.

Cancellation

You may cancel your reservation through phone or email to the park at which your reservation was made.  The amount of your refund, if any, will be determined by the following:

  1. if your reservation is cancelled 48 hours prior to noon of the first day of your reservation, you will receive a full refund of your camping fees.  These fees can only be refunded to the credit card used in the original transaction.  No exceptions.  The non-refundable reservation fee is not refunded;
  2. if your cancellation is received less than 48 hours prior to noon on the first day of your reservation, the first night's camping and non-refundable reservation fee are not refunded; or
  3. if the reservation is not cancelled, a site will be held until noon of the second day of the reservation at which time the site will be released and you will not receive a refund on any portion of the camping fees or the non-refundable reservation fee.
