Camping in a Provincial Park

Campground Rules in accordance with The Parks Regulations, 1991

  1. Please keep your camping permit; you may be required to produce it to park staff.
  2. Permit renewal time is 11:00 a.m.  If the permit is not renewed by 11:00 a.m., the campsite you are in may be released.
  3. Check out time is 12:00 noon.
  4. Check in time is 2:00 p.m.  If your site is available prior to 2:00 p.m., you may be able to check in.
  5. When you are issued a permit for a campsite, you must have a camping unit on the site within one hour of receiving the permit or the permit may be considered void and the site may be reissued.
  6. One camping unit is allowed per site.  One small tent for dependent children may be allowed with approval from the park manager/supervisor.
  7. Transporting firewood into or out of any park is an offence.
  8. Fires are only allowed in government-provided fireplaces/barbecues.  Please keep fires small; small fires conserve firewood and reduce the risk of forest and/or grass fires.
  9. All vehicles must be licensed and kept on roadways and parking lots.  Only two vehicles are allowed at each campsite at any time.  One water craft per site is allowed.
  10. A limit of six people per campsite is allowed for non-immediate family groups.  Additional limits may be applied in specific parks at certain times.
  11. Visitors to campsites must possess and display a valid park entry permit.  Visiting hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.  Information about who is occupying a campsite will not be released without written consent from the person(s) occupying the site.
  12. Any combination of tarps may not exceed 400 sq. ft. (37.16 m sq.).  Tarps cannot be used vertically.
  13. It is unlawful to damage or remove any sign, facility, turf, rock, or the whole or part of any flower, plant, shrub or tree.
  14. It is unlawful to discharge, discard or dispose of any liquid or solid waste other than into a provided sewage system or receptacle.
  15. Be considerate of your neighbours regarding pet litter and barking dogs.  Pets must be kept leashed, attended and controlled at all times.  Pet litter must be cleaned up.
  16. Wildlife is present in the park.  Maintain and leave a clean site.
  17. Lights are restricted to a maximum of 12 patio lights (one string) or one section of rope lights per site.  Lights must be CSA approved.
  18. All major appliances are limited to those fixed in the camping unit or contained within the unit's original construction.
  19. The park determines the use of power plants/generators in campgrounds.  The park may restrict hours of use.

Release of Campsite Information

Under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Saskatchewan parks must not share your campsite information with anyone without your permission.  This is for your safety and privacy.  Saskatchewan provincial parks will use either of the following options to ensure your privacy:

Option 1

  • At time of registration, you will be asked if your campsite information may be released by park staff (a signature is required, as verbal approval is not adequate and your signature will be obtained is such a way that other camper signatures cannot be viewed).
  • Your permission will be asked and a signature required at all return visits.

Option 2

  • Parks may provide a message centre/bulletin board for you to post your campsite information.

Please Note:  After-hour arrivals, for Reserve-a-Site and ministry-operated rental accommodations, will be informed that their reservation information will be posted.  After-hour arrivals not agreeing to this process must make other arrangements.

Cancellation/Refunds

If leaving early, you will receive a refund for any remaining nights after the minimum booking requirement is met.  In order to receive a refund for a current day, you must vacate the site prior to check-out time at 12 noon.  You will be refunded in the same method in which you originally paid.  Entry fees are non-refundable.

All reservations must be guaranteed.  Upon acknowledgement that a site is available, the non-refundable reservation fee and minimum booking camping fee are charged to a valid credit card to guarantee the reservation.  The remaining length of stay must be paid on arrival at the park.

Your reserved site will be held for you until noon of the second day of your reservation.  If you are a "No-Show", you will be charged the non-refundable reservation fee and the minimum night's stay.  Your site will be released as of noon of the second day of the reservation, thereby terminating your reservation.

The camping fee is refundable if 48 hours cancellation notice is provided prior to noon on the first day of the reservation.  If 48 hours notice is not provided, the non-refundable reservation fee and the first night's camping fee is charged.  Once the reservation becomes a registration, the non-refundable reservation fee and the minimum booking requirement are not refunded.

If you are evicted from your site, you will not receive a refund.

General

Entry:  All visitors to the park, including visitors to a campsite, must possess and display a valid park entry.  Refunds are not granted for entry permits.  Lost or stolen entry permits will not be refunded or replaced.

Pets:  We understand that pets are a part of your family and that they like holidays too; however, pets and camping can provide challenges.  We ask that you respect your environment and neighbours; please ensure that you are in control of your pet at all times.  Pets must always be leashed.  Excessive noise will not be tolerated.  Please clean up your pet litter.  Pets are not allowed in public structures, the main beach, and swimming areas.

Respect your surroundings:  Provincial parks and recreation sites preserve significant ecosystems, landscapes and cultural resources.  Provincial parks contain cultural and natural environments that are treasured reminders of who we are and where we came from.  We ask you to respect your surroundings.
