Seasonal campsites are available at several locations within the provincial parks system from May 14, 2009, to September 30, 2009.  Transfer to an alternate site may be required after the Labour Day weekend as campground service may be reduced at that time; check with the park of your choice.

The seasonal camping draw is now complete for this year.  If you did not attend the draw you will be contacted with the results.  Thank you for your interest in the seasonal camping program.

Rules and Regulations

Due to the nature of seasonal camping and the pressure that continual use places on our natural features and park infrastructure, conditions for seasonal campers are more stringent than conditions that apply to short-term campers within provincial parks.  The following conditions have been separated into two categories: those that apply to ALL campers (including seasonal) and those that apply to SEASONAL campers only.

Rules and Regulations for All Campers

  1. Permit holders shall maintain the campsite and camping unit in a condition acceptable to the park manager or designate.
  2. Only one camping unit (tent, tent-trailer, camper, camper-truck/van, camping trailer or motorhome) allowed per campsite, except where sites are designated as double sites.  Mobile homes and bunkhouse-type trailers are not allowed.  All units/sites must be maintained so as not to detract from the park setting.  Due to campsite size, length restrictions may apply.  All units/equipment must be contained within the sites.
  3. One small tent per single site for accommodating dependent children and one screened tent for meal purposes may be allowed with prior approval of the park manager or designate depending on the size of the campsite.  No other structures or site alterations are permitted.
  4. A limit of six (6) people per campsite is allowed for non-immediate family groups.  Additional limits may be applied in specific parks at certain times.
  5. Visitors to campsites must possess and display a valid park entry permit.  Visiting hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.  Information about who is occupying a campsite will not be released without written consent from the person(s) occupying the site.
  6. Grey water/sewage must be contained and disposed of at disposal sites.  Disposal of grey water/sewage on the ground is prohibited.
  7. Fires are allowed in government provided fireplace/barbeques only.  Propane or other non-wood burning portable barbeques are acceptable for cooking purposes.
  8. Removable ground level decks/landings to a maximum of 80 sq. ft. (7.43 m. sq.) will be allowed, upon approval of the park manager or designate.
  9. The park determines the use of power plants/generators in campgrounds.  The park may restrict hours of use.
  10. Any combination of tarps may not exceed 400 sq. ft. (37.16 m. sq.).  Tarps cannot be used vertically.
  11. All camping units and vehicles, other than tents and truck campers, must be legally registered and display a current, valid license plate at all times when on park land.
  12. All vehicles must be licensed and kept on roadways and parking lots.  Only two (2) vehicles are allowed at each campsite at any time.  One (1) watercraft per site is allowed.  Visitors are to park their vehicles in designated visitor parking areas where available.
  13. The permit holder, their family and guests shall comply at all times with all permit conditions and regulations.  The permit holder is responsible for the conduct and behaviour of their family and guests.  Everyone must observe all campground regulations and conditions.  Rowdy behaviour or excessive noise is not permitted at any time.
  14. Pets must be kept leashed and attended at all times.  Pet owners must ensure that pet litter is cleaned up.  Please be considerate of your neighbours.
  15. Alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the permit holder's camping unit, and on their assigned site, in accordance with Section 107 (1) per 139(1) of The Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act, 1997.
  16. Major appliances are restricted to those fixed in the camping unit/contained within the original unit's construction.
  17. Lights are restricted to a maximum of 12 patio lights (one string) or one (1) section of rope lights per site.  All lights must be CSA approved.
  18. Failure to comply with the above conditions and the The Parks Act and associated regulations may result in eviction.

Rules and Regulations for Seasonal Campers

  1. Check season dates with the park of your choice.  Transfer to an alternate site may be required after the Labour Day weekend.  Campground services may be reduced prior to Victoria Day weekend and after the Labour Day weekend.
  2. If a refund is requested prior to park opening date all camping fees are returned.  If a refund is requested after park opening date (whether or not the camping unit is on site) refunds will be calculated as follows:

the site type per night rate x the number of nights from park opening date until the date of the refund request = the camping fee charge

The camping fee charge amount will be subtracted from the seasonal camping fee collected. If the seasonal fee collected is more than the camping fee charge, a refund is available.  The refund can only be applied to the credit card used in the original transaction.  If the credit card used in the original transaction cannot be provided, or the fee was originally paid by cheque or money order, the refund will be mailed.  The park-specific entry permit must also be returned.
  3. Permit holders shall not rent, sell, sublet, assign or otherwise transfer the assigned site.
  4. Seasonal sites are valid only for the park they are purchased in.
  5. The park administration office is to be notified if the camping unit is to be removed from the seasonal site for any time period.  The park reserves the right to assign the campsite to another camper for the vacated period.  Notice of 24 hours is required when returning to a seasonal site.
  6. All camping units must be movable upon 24 hours notice.  At the end of the season, the camping unit must be removed from the campsite.  Winter trailer storage is available at some locations.
  7. When vacating the campsite at the end of the season, the permittee must remove all personal property and restore the site to its original condition.  If the site is not restored to its original condition, the ministry reserves the right to restore the site and charge the associated costs of restoration to the camper.
  8. Failure to comply with the above conditions and Parks Act and Regulations may result in eviction and/or loss of the campsite for the season.
