Saskatchewan Parks - Candle Lake Park

Candle Lake Park is located less than an hour northeast of Prince Albert.  The park area is dominated by the large lake, a clean and clear body of water featuring good-sized campgrounds on the east and west sides.

Water-Based Recreation

Saskatchewan Parks - Candle Lake Park

A multitude of water-based recreation awaits you at Candle Lake!  Candle Lake has a good reputation for walleye and northern pike.  A barrier-free trout pond near Sandy Bay and wheelchair accessible campsites ensure fun for everyone.

Swimming:

Sandy Bay Beach located in Sandy Bay Campground.  Beautiful sandy beach with a hard-surface walkway to the Service Centre.

Waskateena Beach located on the south end of Candle Lake.  Known for the beautiful sand and shallow water.  Great place to take your small children for the afternoon.

Minowukaw Beach located on the eastern corner of Candle Lake in Minowukaw Campground.  A great sand beach is adjacent to stabilized sand dunes.

Fishing:
Musker Pond - Trout pond is stocked each month during the summer with catchable trout.  Because of its sheltered location this is an ideal location for those days when the lake is rough.  Hard-pack walkways and specially constructed piers make this a barrier free area.

Candle Lake Jack, pike and pickerel are all there for the avid fisher folk.  Most fishing is done from boats.  Some fishing is enjoyed from the shore along Fisher Creek.

Boat Launch:

Sandy Bay - Boat launch is located in Sandy Bay Campground.  Parking for vehicles and trailers is available nearby.

Minowukaw Beach - Boat launch allows several boats to tie up at same time.

Bicycling

Multi-use paths are being developed along high traffic areas of the Resort Village of Candle Lake.  Cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate paths whenever possible.  For example:  blacktop pathway along Highway 265 from Ship’s Lantern Hotel to Island View Subdivision.

Candle Lake Golf Resort
