Swimming: Good Spirit Lake offers may good quality sand beaches. The warm shallow water and sandy weed free bottom provide excellent swimming for children. The main beach, although unsupervised, is buoyed and frequented by park staff to ensure your enjoyment and safety. The main beach is only a short walk from the campgrounds, and ample parking is available close to the beach. A large picnic area directly behind the beach offers a modern beach change house complete with showers. Playground equipment and a covered picnic shelter are also located in this area as well as Beach Volleyball court where you can enjoy a game of volleyball right on the beautiful sandy beach. This beautiful area of manicured grass is well shaded by mature spruce and poplar trees and offers excellent picnic opportunities. Well developed walk ways link this area with the beach parking lot and nearby food concession. Fishing: Angling can be one of the most relaxing and rewarding experiences and cooking fresh caught fish in the outdoors adds even more to the enjoyment! Good Spirit Lake supports good populations of walleye and northern pike. Angling licenses, fishing tackle and other supplies are accessible at several locations in the area. Boat Launch: A high quality boat, maintained launch is located at the south end of the lake. Whether anglings, waterskiing or just cruising the waves, Good Spirit Lake offers excellent boating opportunities for the water enthusiast. A quality boat launch facility is located in at the south end of the lake and marine gas and other boating supplies are available at the convenience store located one mile south of the park. ![]() BicyclingNumerous trails twist and wind through the park, and offer scenic routes through both wooded and open areas. Hikers and cyclists can enjoy the quiet beauty of the area while sightseeing, bird watching or exercising, and they may even catch a glimpse of a moose, elk or deer while travelling on the Trans Canada Trail. Lazy Daze Mini-GolfChallenge your putting skills at the creatively planned 18-hole miniature golf located between the main campground and the recreation hall. This privately-operated facility is open from May to September and is very popular with people of all ages. GolfingLocated just one mile south of the park, Good Spirit Lake Golf & Family Resort offers a friendly and challenging 6,276 yard layout which is suitable for the experienced or recreational golfer. Ball rentals are available at Manitou Concessions. Winter RecreationEnjoy winter activities such as cross-country skiing on 18 kilometres of groomed trails. Snowmobile through trails maintained by the local snowmobile club that wind through the area and link Cross-country Ski Trails: Over 18 kilometres of trail await beginner and expert skiers alike. Experience the beauty of nature along a trail and whole new world will unfold before you. Snowmobile Trails: Snowmobile Trails are located adjacent to the park. Dune Discovery Interpretive Trail - Wind and water sift shoreline sand, here at This trail takes you along the lake's shoreline and into the dunes. It is an easy stroll; there are benches along the way. On hot days, wear a hat and take extra water. On the return trip you can retrace your steps along the lake or try an old road that passes a marsh and comes out just west of the parking lot, either way, the trail is three kilometres return. The trail is barrier-free to the control structure. Trans Canada Trail: Approximately 18 km of the Trans Canada Trail runs through the park. The trailhead is located across the entry road from the Recreation Hall. Staff-lead ProgramsFriendly, knowledgeable park staff deliver interpretive programs for park visitors of all ages. Whether it is beach front games, holiday celebrations or nature walks through the sand dunes, there is always something to do in the park, during peak season. If weather becomes a problem, activities are simply moved indoors at the recreation hall. Films, crafts, lectures and games make your park experience enjoyable. Bulletin boards located throughout the park provide accurate information on current activities planned in the park. |
