artsVest Saskatchewan is a sponsorship training and matching incentive program of Business for the Arts, run in Saskatchewan with funding from Canadian Heritage and PCS.

Since 2011, the Government of Saskatchewan has invested $250,000 annually, which has been matched by Canadian Heritage, to run a pilot program in the province. In May 2013, the province renewed this commitment, again matched by Canadian Heritage, for another two years.

Business for the Arts recently celebrated the impact of artsVest™ across Canada. 2011-2013 program results were announced for Saskatchewan and four other jurisdictions. This year’s recipient of the artsVest Outstanding Partnership Award was also revealed. For the second year in a row, a Saskatchewan partnership has been recognized with this national award. Congratulations to PAVED Arts, the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and Affinity Credit Union for their creativity and innovation in the artsVest program. Last year, La Troupe du Jour and Saskatoon Express received the inaugural artsVest Outstanding Partnership Award.

artsVest is a core program of Business for the Arts.  Its objectives are to:

  • stimulate business investment and sponsorship in arts, culture and heritage on a local level through matching incentive funds and fostering mutually-beneficial partnerships;
  • build capacity within the arts, culture and heritage sector through sponsorship training workshops; and
  • facilitate collaborative relationships between the public, private and culture sector at a local level through community build events (networking).

artsVest supports capacity building and economic growth and development, two of the goals featured in Pride of Saskatchewan, our province’s cultural policy.
